The Karátsonyi Couple Photographed at Adèle's in Vienna
A studio portrait on a cabinet card of Count Karátsonyi and his wife, born Marczibányi, of the Kamenica estate. The bearded man in a dark jacket and pale trousers sits with his hat and cane on his knee; the woman stands close behind his shoulder in an elaborately flounced and bustled day dress and a feathered hat, one hand resting on the chair. A patterned carpet and a draped studio backdrop fill the setting. Printed below is the imprint of Adèle, imperial and royal court photographers of Vienna.
