Five-kreuzer stamp of the 1867 issue
The 5 kreuzer of the issue of 1867, the year of the Compromise: the emperor's laureate head and no country name, because Austria and Hungary used one design for their two separate postal administrations. The Hungarian post put it on sale on 1 June 1867, and it remained the stamp of the Újvidék post office until 31 July 1871. A loose copy belongs to the Hungarian side only by its postmark. This one, still on a piece of its letter, was struck at Buziás in Temes county, in the Banat, today Buziaș in Romania.
