Ten-gulden note of the National Bank, Vienna, 1825
Ten gulden of the privileged Austrian National Bank, dated Vienna, 23 June 1825, series L, number 386942. Its text is the bank's standing promise, to pay the bearer ten gulden in silver coin of the convention standard, and the bank's name arches around a rosette with a Roman X at its heart. The bank changed its notes for silver on demand until the revolution of 1848 put a stop to it. The note is worn soft, with small holes near the top.
