Five gulden of the Oesterreichische National Zettel Bank, dated Vienna, 1 July 1816, one of the first notes of the bank founded that year to put the paper money of the war years in order. Its text promises to pay the bearer five gulden in silver coin of the convention standard, and a dark panel at the lower left repeats “Fünf Guld. Silber-Münze”. The sheet has been folded many times and has worn through along the folds.
