The Studio Card Back of Photographer Johann Rechnitzer, Novi Sad
This is the decorative reverse of a photographer's card mount, not a scene view. An engraved coat of arms with two griffins and the Hungarian crown tops three medallions above a trilingual studio imprint: Serbian Cyrillic for Jovan Rehnicera's photographic institute, German for Johann Rechnitzer's Anstalt in Neusatz, and Hungarian for Rechnitzer Janos's studio in Uj-Videken. One medallion commemorates a citation from 1871, and a handwritten German note offers reprints at reduced prices. The donor dates the photograph mounted on this card to 1871.
