A printed trade advertisement in a border of solid squares, with a line engraving of the shop building at the left showing a modernist block of four storeys, its glazed ground floor lettered in Cyrillic and a crowd before the windows. The text names the business, its trade, its two addresses and a telephone number, and gives a branch at Petrovgrad.
About this place
The street running off Liberty Square, named for King Alexander I of Yugoslavia and carrying the name still. The archive's cards look along it toward the spire of the Name of Mary Church, with the tram in the roadway and shop awnings down the left side. Under the occupation of 1941 to 1944 the street carried Adolf Hitler’s name, and the archive’s wartime photograph of it is filed here under that period. Under socialist Yugoslavia the street carried the name Ulica narodnih heroja, which a separate street about 120 m south-west carries today, so a caption using that name has to be dated before it is placed. The pin is the OpenStreetMap line of the street itself.
