A Lone Boat on the Danube at Novi Sad
A wide still reach of the Danube under flat cloud, with one small wooden boat out in the middle of it carrying two figures. Low wooded banks close in on both sides, and a line of pale bluffs runs along the far shore with a hedgerow standing on the crest. The water is at summer level and the boat is the only traffic on it, which is the point of the picture rather than any landmark.
