Convention thaler of Maria Theresa, Günzburg, 1765
Maria Theresa in profile on a silver convention thaler, her legend naming her Roman empress and queen of Germany, Hungary and Bohemia. The convention of 1753 with Bavaria fixed the thaler at ten to a Cologne mark of fine silver, two forints of 60 kreuzer each, and that standard governed the silver of Neusatz and the rest of the monarchy for more than a century. The letters S.C. under the bust are the marks of the mint's officials.
