Twenty-five-fillér Turul stamp of Hungary, 1900
The 25 fillér of the Turul issue, Hungary's first stamps in the new korona and fillér currency, on sale from 1 January 1900. In János Böhm's design the turul, the bird of the Hungarian origin legend, spreads its wings over the Holy Crown, with MAGYAR KIR. POSTA at the top and the value below. The Turul values were reprinted on new watermarked papers from 1904 to 1913, and they were the everyday stamps of Újvidék, Pétervárad and Kamenica until the Harvesters design took their place from 1916.
