Maximum food prices for the town
A wartime price-control poster for Ujvidék, printed in three columns and three languages: Hungarian, Serbian in Cyrillic and German, each carrying the same text. A table of forty-seven items sets a maximum price per unit weight for bread, flour, milk, butter, lard, beans, potatoes, sugar, beef, pork, veal, mutton, sausage, bacon, eggs, hay and straw. A note under the table records that the prices for beef and pork are to be understood without the bone. The measures took effect on 27 January 1915.
