Low houses and gardens line the Danube bank at Kamenica, a district of Novi Sad that was once a separate settlement, with hills rising behind and two church towers visible at the right. The river stands high against the garden walls. The source identifies one of the towers as the Serbian Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Virgin.
About this place
A settlement on the Fruska Gora side of the Danube, upstream of Petrovaradin and now part of Novi Sad. Cards sell it as Luftkurort Kamenitz, an air resort, and it was reached from the town by steamer. The imperial and royal infantry cadet school stood here, and the Serbian Orthodox church appears on cards captioned Kamenica in Serbian, Kamanc in Hungarian and Kamenitz in German.
