General view over the rooftops
The view runs down over shop awnings and tiled roofs to open country beyond. A large rooftop advertisement on the building at the centre ends in the Hungarian word for brothers, so the trade signed itself in the same language as the caption, which is Hungarian alone and offers nothing but a general view, placing the card before 1918.
About this place
The historic core of Novi Sad, the grid of streets and squares that grew up around the main square and the Danube frontage. It is the borough almost every Habsburg and Kingdom-era postcard in this archive was made in. The individual streets, squares and buildings keep their own entries and appear here as well.
