Women in folk costume parading at the Hungarian Bread Festival in Novi Sad
Women in Hungarian folk dress march in file down the street, embroidered aprons over white pleated skirts and tall boots, a girl at the head of the column carrying a furled flag on a pole. The banner behind her reads UJVIDEKI NOI HONVEDELEM above a shield, naming the Novi Sad women's national defence group. Balconies on both sides are packed with onlookers and hung with swagged bunting and long vertical banners, a slender church spire closes the view down the street, and cut greenery is strewn across the roadway.
On the card
