A pencil elevation on tracing paper at a scale of one to a hundred, folded and stamped. The drawing shows a long front of four storeys: a glazed ground floor in wide mullioned bays, two upper floors of regular three light windows, and a set back attic storey behind a balustrade. At the centre the entrance is drawn as a tall glazed surround with a standing figure in it and the building's name lettered above. The sheet carries the building department's stamp, the engineer's round seal, two signatures and the date.
About this place
A curved modernist block at the corner of Vojvode Putnika, built as the home of the Yugoslav teachers. The elevation drawing held here is signed by the engineer Danilo Kaćanski of Novi Sad, dated 24 December 1934 and stamped by the building department in 1935, and it letters the name across the front above the entrance, which carries a standing figure in a glazed surround. The built block follows the drawing closely: a long curved front of banded windows over a glazed ground floor, with a set back top storey behind an open balustrade. The same engineer designed the Albus soap works of 1937. The pin is the OpenStreetMap address point for Vojvode Putnika 1.
