Rooftop Panorama With Two Church Towers, 1899
The view runs from a height over the tiled roofs of Novi Sad to a flat horizon. At the left a church tower with a bulbous helm and a slender spire rises over its church, and long buildings with regular rows of windows stand behind it. A second church tower with a pointed spire rises above trees at the right edge. Between them a lower square tower ends a long roof, and a tall factory chimney stands further off. The caption printed in red across the middle of the card gives the town's Hungarian and German names, Ujvidék and Neusatz, and the imprint along the bottom edge names the Vienna publisher Nachbargauer János and the number 7185. The lower half of the card is left blank for a message, since the back took only the address. The card went through the post to Budapest in December 1899.
