The caption is German alone, set inside a decorative banner, and it sells the village as an air-cure resort rather than naming anything in it, so the card was made to draw visitors. The paddle steamer lying mid-river carries a Hungarian shipping company's initials and a Hungarian name, and the village church tower stands behind it.
About this place
A settlement on the Fruska Gora side of the Danube, upstream of Petrovaradin and now part of Novi Sad. Cards sell it as Luftkurort Kamenitz, an air resort, and it was reached from the town by steamer. The imperial and royal infantry cadet school stood here, and the Serbian Orthodox church appears on cards captioned Kamenica in Serbian, Kamanc in Hungarian and Kamenitz in German.
