# King Peter I Military Barracks

Also called: Kasarna kralja Petra I, I. Péter király laktanya, K. K. Infanterie-Kaserne.

The infantry barracks of Novi Sad, built in 1895 on the extension of the Lebarski sokak, later Miletićeva ulica. The street was renamed for it, Ulica kasarne and Laktanya utca on Hungarian cards, and it carries the name Ulica vojvode Bojovića today. The Habsburg-era card names the building K. K. Infanterie-Kaserne; under the Kingdom of Yugoslavia it took the name of King Peter I, and it is now the Vojvoda Bojović barracks. It is a separate complex from the Honved barracks of 1894 and 1895 in Futoška street, which carried the names Archduke Joseph and then King Alexander I and is today the Arčibald Rajs barracks. Both of the archive's views show the long three-storey ranges rising over the low roofs of the town.
