# Neusatz Archive > Historical photographs, postcards, maps, prints and documents of Novi Sad (Újvidék, Neusatz, Нови Сад), Petrovaradin and Sremska Kamenica, from 1687 to 1989. Each picture is dated from evidence, placed where its view allows, and described in English, German, Serbian, Hungarian and Russian. 1591 pictures, filed under 118 places. ## When to use this archive - Finding an old picture of a named street, square, building, church, bridge or quarter of Novi Sad, Petrovaradin or Sremska Kamenica. - Dating or identifying an old view of these towns: what stood where, and when, with the evidence for each date. - Answering questions about the towns' history as pictures record it: the pontoon bridge, the Petrovaradin fortress and its battles, the street names under each state, the wars and the bombing of 1944. - Finding who holds a picture, its credit and its licence before reusing it. The archive holds nothing made after 1989 and nothing of other towns, so questions outside those bounds belong elsewhere. ## How to read it - [Places](https://archive.neusatz.cc/places.md): the 118 places with a page, each linked to its Markdown, which lists every picture filed there. - A picture: https://archive.neusatz.cc/i//index.md gives one record in Markdown (title, date, place, description, lettering, maker, holder, licence, image link); https://archive.neusatz.cc/i// is its page. - A place: https://archive.neusatz.cc/s//index.md, and https://archive.neusatz.cc/s// for its page. - [Catalogue](https://archive.neusatz.cc/catalog.json): all 1591 records in one JSON file of about 9 MB, in five languages, with dates as year_from and year_to. - Asking https://archive.neusatz.cc/ or https://archive.neusatz.cc/gallery with `Accept: text/markdown` returns this page as Markdown. ## Reuse Every record names its holder, its credit and its licence.
