# Twenty-five-gulden note of the Vienna City Bank, 1762

Twenty-five gulden of the first Habsburg paper money, a Wiener Stadt-Banco-Zettel dated in Vienna on 1 July 1762, with the value in a golden brown ink at its head and the text in black. The text binds the tax and treasury offices of the Hungarian, Bohemian and Austrian lands to take such notes for half of any payment due, the other half in coin, and lets a holder change them for the bank's five per cent bonds in sums of two hundred gulden or more. Printed labels at the head name the two seals that authenticated the note, the arms of the bank's court deputation and those of the city of Vienna.
