# Motor omnibuses at the Iodine Spa

Two early motor omnibuses stand at the kerb in front of the long stuccoed front of the municipal artesian bath. The nearer vehicle is an open sided charabanc on wooden spoked wheels, with a flat canopy roof on slender posts, a driver and a uniformed man at the front and a painted legend running along the panel below its windows. The second is an enclosed omnibus with a long row of windows down its side. People are gathered around both, among them women in wide hats and several children, and a figure leans from an upper window of the building to watch. The bath opened in 1910 on the ground where iodine rich water had been struck in 1897, and it ran its own motor service to carry subscribers to and from the town.
