# The long block and its tower

Four continuous fluted channels run the full height of the tower to a slotted belvedere near the top. The long wing beside it is faced in stone and lit by uninterrupted bands of window with continuous cills, and the entrance is a low porch of square piers set into its length. Behind the block the curved drum of the assembly hall shows above the roofline.
