# Liberation Square, a Tram Passing the Matica Srpska Building, 1940

A large modern warehouse building carries painted lettering including Творничко стовариште, factory warehouse, at left, and the older building beside it at right is clearly signed Матица Српска, the historic Serbian cultural institution, with further shopfronts reading Џентлмен and Фишер Ј. Син along the same block. The Holy Trinity column and a tram are visible near the edge of the frame. The heading, Новисад, Трг Ослобођења, Novisad, Trg Oslobodjenja, appears at lower left.
