# Pašićeva Street toward Saint George Cathedral

A brown-toned postcard looks south along Pašićeva Street toward the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral Church of Saint George, whose bell tower closes the view at the far end. The Marija Trandafil endowment building, today the headquarters of Matica srpska, dominates the left foreground, followed by the dense line of houses and commercial premises of the old street. Pedestrians gather farther down the roadway. The street had carried the name of Nikola Pašić since 1918 and retained it until the Hungarian occupation in 1941.
