# Steam locomotive in Vojvode Mišića Street

A steam locomotive works along the railway line that once ran through Vojvode Mišića Street, passing within a few metres of a multi-storey residential building. Snow covers the track bed, and exposed point-control rods and trackside equipment lie in the foreground. The line formed part of the old railway approach through central Novi Sad, running from the Marshal Tito Bridge along Vojvode Mišića and today's Maksima Gorkog to the old passenger station, and it stayed in use until May 1962. An external reproduction of this same photograph captions it 1961, Ulica Vojvode Mišića, and a before-and-after presentation matches the facade here with the surviving streetscape left after the railway was lifted.
