# Novi Sad's Former Road Bridge, Destroyed in 1941

Twisted spans of the road bridge lean into the Danube, their wreckage marked by debris along the near bank. A handwritten note dates the destruction to the war of 1941, when Serbian forces blew up the bridge, and the printed caption calls it the FORMER road bridge, language used during the Hungarian occupation that followed.
