# The royal Hungarian post office

A three storey public building stands square to the camera across a wide street, its stuccoed front articulated by pilasters and string courses, with round headed windows to the first floor under moulded heads and smaller square windows above. Large raised letters run across the top of the facade below the cornice and a flagpole rises from the roof. A carriage with two horses waits at the kerb before the main door, where a few figures stand. To the left a smaller low building and an advertising pillar carrying a large pictorial poster, with a lattice mast beside it. To the right the street runs away past a terrace of taller houses and a tram or a bus stands at the far kerb, with a church spire showing above the roofs in the distance. In the foreground a broad planted bed with low shrubs and bare earth occupies the middle of the roadway, and tram rails curve past it.
