# Crowds on the city beach

The sand of the city beach packed with bathers, hundreds of them along the water and spread back across the open ground, some in bathing costume and many in ordinary summer dress with hats and parasols. A tall wooden pavilion with a shingled conical roof stands at the right, and the wooded far bank runs across the whole width behind the river.
