# The first tram

Two open platform tramcars stand nose to tail on a cobbled street while a dense crowd of men in dark suits, bowler and homburg hats, and walking canes fills the roadway in front of them, posing for the camera rather than riding or waiting. One figure at the left wears a peaked cap and belted uniform, set apart from the civilian dress around him. Multi-story buildings with shuttered upper windows line the street behind the group.
