# Loading outside the Matica srpska bookshop

Three men load paper-wrapped bundles from a tall stack on the pavement into the back of a canvas-covered lorry: one in a vest lifts a bundle over the tailboard, one stands with his back to the camera and a third, in a white shirt, looks on. Two children in summer clothes stand on the pavement at the right. Behind them are two shopfronts with dark fascias lettered in Cyrillic, a footwear shop on the left and a bookshop on the right with a small emblem lettered Matica srpska beside its name, and a blind drawn across the bookshop window names it the bookshop of Matica srpska. Matica srpska is the Serbian cultural and scientific society founded in Pest in 1826, which moved to Novi Sad in 1864.
