# School Sisters' convent and girls' school

A postcard of the Roman Catholic School Sisters' convent and girls' school in Njegoševa Street, the institution traditionally known in Novi Sad as the Kloster. The long two-storey façade belongs to the building at today's Njegoševa 9, where several pedestrians and women in religious habits stand along the pavement. The site had previously contained the well-known Kod Fazana inn and an early theatrical venue. The Roman Catholic parish acquired the property for girls' education in the 1870s, and the School Sisters began teaching there on 4 August 1878. The Novi Sad house belonged to the Kalocsa School Sisters of Our Lady, a congregation devoted particularly to the education of girls. The card was used in February 1930, during a period when the former confessional school was being incorporated into the state school system.
