# The synagogue dome over the snow

A narrow winter view along a path banked with deep snow, a single set of wheel ruts running down it. The great dome of the synagogue closes the view at the left, its ribbed drum and the ring of gabled openings around it carrying a lantern and finial, all of it under a load of snow. Below and before it the lower roofs and a gabled porch of the synagogue complex step down among small bare trees. The right of the frame is filled by a large tree, its trunk and every branch outlined in snow, and below it a balustraded terrace wall runs down toward the path with a flight of steps behind. Three figures in dark winter coats stand together on the path at the foot of the wall.
