# Asphalting the road

A road roller presses fresh asphalt into Queen Mary Boulevard while workmen spread and rake the surface around it. Behind them stands the home of the Novi Sad commercial youth on its rounded corner, with the figure of Mercury on the roofline, and a row of new modernist blocks runs along the boulevard, a crane rising among the buildings at the left. The road was surfaced in 1939, after the Banovina had been finished across the boulevard from the commercial youth's home.
