# The last tram

Trams were officially replaced by buses on 30 September 1958, and the ceremony was held on Liberty Square. There had been two lines. Line 1, the White Line, ran from the Futog Gate to Temerin Street, passing the Bishop's Palace and crossing the city centre, then out past the Iodine Spa to the city hospital, where it terminated. Line 2, the Green Line, ran from the former railway station to the far end of Danube Street.
