# A Crowd Gathered by the Arcaded Market Hall, Wheat Square

Wheat Square (Житни трг, Búza tér), the market square that begins at the end of Furrier Street and ends at the large stone cross where the Temerin road leaves the city. A crowd of men in hats and women in long skirts is gathered in front of the long arcaded building, with carts drawn up beyond them and an advertising column on the footway. The sender has written across the top of the picture in ink, in Hungarian: on Thursday there will be a pig slaughter at ours. Cards of this decade carried their message on the picture side, because the back was reserved for the address.
