# The Catholic Church Tower, a Lone Figure Standing in the Road

A ground-level view up the tower from the street, a horse carriage and a knot of pedestrians at the bottom left and a lone figure standing squarely in the middle of the road. A small hut stands at the foot of the church railings on the right. The card is dated 14 July 1914, in the weeks between the assassination at Sarajevo and the outbreak of the First World War.
