# Five Heads on Rose Hill

Masonry piers carrying sculpted heads in Roman-style helmets stand linked by tall pointed arches on Rose Hill, with a second, lower arch framing the view through the middle of the group. A bed of planting on the stone ledge beneath it has the year picked out in light-coloured material against the dark foliage. Two women in dark dress, a child in a white pinafore and a child in a dark coat and hat stand at the bed, and a man sits on the plinth at the left. The arches linking the piers, and the full arrangement they belong to, have largely gone since; what survives today is a handful of upright piers and heavily weathered remains. Landscape history dates Kamenicki Park and the Five Heads to the park's creation in the 1830s, so the heads were already about eighty years old when this was taken.
