# The Imperial and Royal Military School at Kamenitz, by Wilhelm von Doderer

A colour lithograph of the imperial and royal military upper education house on the plateau above Kamenitz, its long ranges standing clear of the hillside behind a walled forecourt. Below, the village falls away to the Danube under a tall church spire, with a paddle steamer on the water and the fortress of Petrovaradin on its rock opposite. The plate is lettered in German alone, with the institution's full imperial and royal title; smaller lines credit Doderer and the Vienna printers Reiffenstein & Rösch. It belongs to the architect Wilhelm von Doderer's series on the empire's military schools, and in 1859 Kamenitz was one of five such upper houses, taking boys for four years after the lower schools.
