# The confectionery pavilion in the park

A timber pavilion with a steep shingled roof stands among mature trees in the Danube Park, its fretted gable carrying a finial and a board lettered in Hungarian for a confectionery. The open front is fitted as a serving counter where women in long white dresses and aprons wait, and a man in a dark suit and a pale hat stands among the cloth-covered tables and folding white chairs set out across the gravelled terrace. A slatted bench with curved iron ends stands in the foreground and a clipped hedge closes the view at the right. The card is hand-coloured, the greens laid on by hand over a monochrome print.
