# Prince Charles at Petrovaradin Fortress

Charles, Prince of Wales, stands at the right in a dark overcoat at the railing of the fortress terrace, while a man in a wide-lapelled suit points out over the parapet and a third man in dark glasses follows his arm. The clock tower rises behind them and a long iron railing runs away down the slope. The tight framing and the unposed moment are those of press coverage. Charles made a single official visit to Yugoslavia, from 23 to 27 October 1978, which dates the photograph. The bare trees and the heavy overcoats fit that week.
