# The fortress of Petrovaradin defended against an Ottoman attack

An engraved map shows the fortress of Peterwardein and the Danube, with a Christian army encamped nearby and lines marking an Ottoman assault on the position. The German title describes the Christian army positioned near the fortress and the attacks mounted against it by the hereditary enemy, the period's term for the Ottomans.
