# St John of Nepomuk Chapel at the Neusatz landing

Several steam-powered river vessels lie moored off the old Danube landing, their tall funnels standing above the water, with small boats, timber gangways and a waterside service structure in the foreground and along the right. The building at left with the onion-domed bell tower is the Roman Catholic Chapel of St John of Nepomuk, put up inside Brukšanac in 1759 and dedicated to the patron of boatmen and ship-repair craftsmen. The permanent Novi Sad steamer landing established in the nineteenth century lay immediately north of Brukšanac, and although the city's principal freight port moved to the Franz Joseph Canal in 1910, this older Danube-side landing went on serving passenger vessels. The chapel places the scene at the old riverfront landing at Mostobran.
