# Peterwardein in Hungary

A shingle beach on the near bank with barrels, a crate and a coil of rope, a man in a top hat stooping over a bundle, and women in headscarves seated among wicker baskets in a moored boat. Covered barges lie alongside under a tall mast and a floating mill rides at the left, with a line of pontoons strung across the water in the middle distance. Beyond, Petrovaradin fortress stands on its height above the lower town, hills receding to the right. The caption reads "PETERWARDEIN / in Ungarn.", and the margins carry no artist, printer or plate number.
