# Ten-kreuzer stamp of the first Hungarian issue, 1871

The 10 kreuzer of the first stamps of the Hungarian post's own design, on sale from 1 May 1871: the portrait of Franz Joseph, crowned King of Hungary in 1867, above the arms of the kingdom, lithographed at the state printing office in Buda. The frame is attributed to János Unrein. From late June 1871 the same design was printed by engraving. The stamps were sold at Újvidék from the first day and at Pétervárad, which had passed to the Hungarian post on 1 January 1871. This copy was cancelled at Rohoncz, today Rechnitz in Austria.
