# Trams and buses together on the main square

A raised view across the main square, thick with people. A four wheel tram motor car stands at the left on its rails with its trolley up, its side papered with printed bills and its dash carrying a number. Immediately beyond it a double deck bus is drawn up, its upper and lower windows likewise papered with notices, and past that a single deck bus and a lorry with an open display stand. Bunting hangs across the frontages behind and a long painted banner is strung above the vehicles. Flags on tall staffs stand at the left. The crowd fills the foreground and the middle distance, women in headscarves and coats, men in caps and overcoats, several carrying bags, a few gathered at a stall of flowers set on the cobbles. Behind them the square's buildings run away to the right.
