# Crossing the Pontoon Bridge to Petrovaradin, Smoke Rising Beyond

Pedestrians and boats cross the pontoon bridge toward Petrovaradin Fortress, smoke rising near the far shore. Captioned 'Petervarad var, Festung Peterwardein'. A handwritten German greeting at the foot of the card, 'Herzliche Grusse an alle von Blaschke' (Cordial greetings to all, from Blaschke), is dated 7 September 1899.
