# The Fallen Railway Bridge Span, Novi Sad, 1942

A steel truss span of a railway bridge lies broken and tilted into the Danube, its twisted far end resting in the shallows. Railway tracks run along the muddy near bank toward the water, with a pile of masonry blocks stacked beside them. Hills rise on the far shore. The source dates the photograph to 1942 and identifies the wreckage as the destroyed railway bridge.
