# Over the old roofs toward the new boulevard

A colour view looking down from a height across a block of old low buildings to new construction beyond. In the foreground a long ridge of worn tiled roofs runs diagonally across the frame, broken by chimneys, skylights, a tall rendered gable and a slender brick chimney stack, with lettering painted large on one flank and a shop sign standing out on another. Below them a colonnade of square piers carries a long canopy over a walkway where small figures are moving. To the right a busy street runs along shopfronts with awnings, pedestrians crowding the pavement and a kiosk at the kerb. Behind the old roofs a broad new road crosses the view, and beyond it stand long slab blocks of six and more storeys, flat roofed and regularly windowed, with further towers showing faintly behind them.
