# The Hungarian King Inn

A long single-storey inn stands on a corner plot, its white front broken by a row of dark-shuttered windows under a shallow red roof. The board on the corner reads VENDÉGFOGADÓ above GASTHOF, naming the trade in Hungarian and then German for a mixed custom. A Hungarian tricolour flies from the ridge and two men have climbed up beside it for the photograph. A crowd fills the unmade street in front: two open tourers and a bicycle stand among them, a horse waits in the middle of the road, and women in local dress are ranked along the building. An inset oval portrait in the corner of the card shows the proprietor, Gyula Müller.
