# Manuscript plan of the 1716 battle showing Petrovaradin and Ratzenstadt

A pen and wash manuscript plan signed Desbordes, its French title recording the battle given between Pestervaradin and Carlowits and the victory over the Turks by the imperial army under Prince Eugene of Savoy on 5 August 1716. Peterwaradin, Ratzenstatt, Schwabendorf and Cameniz are lettered on the ground, with a brasserie and a tuillerie beside Kamenica, two ponts de bateaux over the Danube and a Fort du Pont guarding the crossing. The Turkish camp is drawn tent by tent in rows above Carlowitz with the Grand Vizier's tent at its head, and the chapel of the 1699 peace stands on the slope behind.
