# The New Modernist Corner of Queen Mary Boulevard, Novi Sad

A postcard of the boulevard's modernist corner, built and photographed while the street was still raw. A stepped tower with a round window and banded brickwork turns the corner; a five-storey block with continuous window bands stands opposite, and further flat-roofed blocks recede behind. Saplings staked in fresh kerbed beds, an empty carriageway and a single figure on the pavement date the scene to the years just after the buildings went up. The card is lettered in Cyrillic and Latin for Novi Sad and names the street Bulevar Kraljice Marije, the interwar name for what is now Bulevar Mihajla Pupina, which places it between the boulevard's construction and the end of the Kingdom.
